Alone
As always
I listen to the sounds around me.
But there are none.
The sound of silence
In the vacuum of space, noise does not exist.

Yet I listen and I hear.
The noise of him, the noise I can never escape
Next door I hear, I hear him
He is making love,
To the woman who is not me
It could never have been me

Or maybe it could
I stopped it
And so now never.
I will never be his
I await the sound of silence
The only sound I wish for
The sound I wish would engulf me

Forever

Alone
